We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then is not an act but a habit
Habits make change possible by freeing us from decision making and from using self control
The second crux of these pages is that you use the knowledge to facilitate habit (and routine) change – whether your focus is improving your diet or starting a meditation program the principles of habit change are the same and so, before you jump in to the wellness pages, work out what strategy works for you to implement changes.
While they each approach habit change from a different perspective they all provide valuable insight into why habit change is so powerful and how to effect it. Mini Habits is a great quick start and the principles can you help you apply a lot of advice from these pages very quickly. Better Than Before provides a great overview and narrative on what type of person you are and what techniques will best work for you in introducing new habits – particular useful as things become more challenging. The Power of Habit while more ‘scientific’ gives a broad overview of how and why habit change is so effective.
If you are a fast reader and or already familiar with the principle of habit change I’ve also added two more inspirational references. The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari, by Robin Sharma and Think and Grow Rich, by Napoleon Hill – these both appear elsewhere on the site but go to underscore the importance of habit change and explore its uses.
Look for sustainable changes and practices you can integrate into your life and your routines . If you cannot see yourself still practicing the change in a year then don’t continue – that doesn’t mean you won’t try, adapt, change or replace practices, but avoid anything that is clearly not sustainable for you or your lifestyle. (This is why so many ‘traditional diet plans’ fail, if you look back you could probably never see yourself following the practices long term and so lose weight only to put it all back on again.)

These are ‘my takes’ of some of the ideas in the featured books. It is not designed, by any means, to replace those books or the others you may find, but maybe a useful recap and or give you a better idea of what to expect from each.
When you have explored the process of habit change you are ready to embark on the wellness pages of this site and change your life for the better forever.
